Portofino Tours

Portofino tours come in four kinds: boat trips, walks, the castle and excursions along the Riviera. This page compares them with 2026 times and prices.

How Portofino tours differ

Most Portofino tours are built from three parts: a boat, a walk and a visit to a sight. Boats depend on the season and the sea. Walks depend on which park paths are open. Sights have their own opening hours and tickets.

Excursion offers use the same links and boats. A tour from Genoa, for example, runs on set days only, and a boat to San Fruttuoso can stop when the weather turns. Check the date, the departure point and what the price covers before you book.

Our picks: tours around Portofino

The Genoa boat trip and the boat from Rapallo cover the coast from the water, while the kayak and snorkelling trips suit active days. The guided day with Santa Margherita starts in La Spezia, so pick it only if you are based there.

Tour types in detail

What each one involves.

Boat trips

Seasonal lines connect Camogli, Punta Chiappa, Portofino and San Fruttuoso. A Genoa excursion needs a reservation, and you check in 30 minutes before departure.

Portofino boat tours →

Walks in the park

The park walk is graded E, for walkers with some experience. It is not a flat promenade. The Passo del Bacio and the Via dei Tubi stay closed in 2026.

Hiking in Portofino Park →

The abbey of San Fruttuoso

Entry to the abbey is €10 in 2026 and is not part of the boat fare. The abbey closes when the boats from Camogli cannot run.

San Fruttuoso →

Day tours to the Cinque Terre and Genoa

Both can be done by train from Santa Margherita. Plan a full day for the Cinque Terre.

Day trips from Portofino →

Tours from Florence

Florence is far from the coast. Read how the journey works before you book a day tour.

What to check before you book

The wording matters more than the price.

Date and departure point

The same product may leave from different harbours on different days. Make sure the meeting point is the one you can reach.

Weather and sea

Boats can be cancelled by weather. If the sea stops the boats to San Fruttuoso, the abbey stays closed as well.

What the price covers

The boat fare does not include the abbey, and the castle ticket covers the park and the castle only. Group prices are not prices per person.

The walk back

If you plan to return on foot, leave time before dark. The last boat back is set by the timetable of the day, so check it on the spot.
